Our building was designed with a pottery studio in the basement, which has seen a change of hands in its 20 years.

As of 2023, we FINALLY have a community based clay studio offering both classes and memberships to serve both professional potters and interested newcomers!

Phoenix Fire Clay Studio

Founded in 2023, Phoenix Fire Clay Studio is a membership-based community studio for professional potters, as well as a space for offering classes for all-level ceramics.
We currently have 14 members working and selling work out of the studio.

Owners: John & Vicki Wilson

John Wilson is the founder of Phoenix Fire Clay Studio and has over 20 years in the world of ceramics. He was born and raised in Fredonia, Kansas and earned a BFA in Ceramics from Emporia State University. Until 2008, he taught high school Art & Design, Ceramics, and Computer Graphics. He then made the decision to pursue his life-long dream of becoming a full-time studio potter.

John has always been passionate about teaching, and making the transition to a full-time creative and studio potter still allows him to teach and share his wealth of expertise in the field to all ages and skill levels.

Where We Are Located:

We are located in the basement of the Upstairs Studio Artists, which means we do NOT have an entrance via Bridge Street. Our entrance is located in the back of the building, in the alleyway by parking lot 3! IF lost please ask John at Ravensgate for directions.
